This team may be small, but they are mighty in every sense of the word. They carry a level of compassion, skill, and quiet strength that few are called to give, and they give it every single day without fanfare or recognition.
The Supportive Care Services team works quietly behind the scenes, but the weight of what they carry and the depth of what they give is immeasurable. They sit with the most vulnerable patients and families during life's most difficult moments, listening carefully to what matters most and making sure every voice is heard.

Through goals of care conversations and life care planning, they help patients and families find clarity, comfort, and a sense of control at a time when everything can feel uncertain. They do not just coordinate care; they honor the whole person.

What makes this team truly extraordinary is that they never lose sight of the human being in front of them. They support not only the patient but the caregivers who love them, making sure no one has to walk through a serious illness alone. They help patients put their wishes into words, arrange the things that matter most, and find peace before they are no longer able to do so. In a healthcare system that moves fast, this team slows down, pulls up a chair, and stays as long as it takes.

This team may be small, but they are mighty in every sense of the word. They carry a level of compassion, skill, and quiet strength that few are called to give, and they give it every single day without fanfare or recognition. The Supportive Care Services team deserves the DAISY Award not because they ask for it, but because the patients and families they walk alongside would say, without hesitation, that this team made them feel they were not alone when it mattered most.
