Danielle was so incredibly kind to me. She was so gentle with my care and was so very knowledgeable in all the information she explained to me.
I was an inpatient at UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital High Risk OB unit. Danielle was my nurse for 2 of the shifts that I was there for, I believe (the days ran together for me, but I do know I was with Danielle for a portion of my stay). Danielle was so incredibly kind to me. She was so gentle with my care and was so very knowledgeable in all the information she explained to me. She was always sure to update my board in my room with the necessary information, and also update it when it was time for pain meds.
Any time that I would press the call button, she would always be the one to come to my room to check on me, and she was always so quick to respond. There were times during my stay that I was uncomfortable in my skin and my presence, and she never once made me feel like less of a person and always encouraged me that I was ok and that I was in good hands. Monday morning, I had an ultrasound of my baby. I was so scared that something would be wrong, as this was my first pregnancy and I had just gone through a pretty extensive surgery in my first trimester. Danielle was not my nurse that day, but when I came back to my room from having the ultrasound, she happened to be near my room and helped me back into bed and was sure to make sure that I was ok and the baby was ok, given what I had gone through, all the while she was not even my assigned nurse for the day. Danielle made me feel so safe and so comfortable during my stay. She made sure my husband stayed informed and answered any information and any questions he had as well. I truly believe that she goes above and beyond for the patients she cares for. She is so incredibly kind, caring, and gentle. She is so knowledgeable in everything that she does. I wish Danielle all the very best.
