Lauren has, for the past two consecutive nights, navigated a tumultuous, intense, and uncomfortable assignment with grace, compassion, resilience, and most of all, kindness.

Even at the most difficult of moments, Lauren managed to keep a smile on her face and a diffusive attitude, which was instrumental in de-escalating the situation and finding comprehensive, workable solutions. She has shown more integrity and moral fortitude in the past two nights than most nurses will in their entire careers.

Lauren advocated passionately for her patient while remaining a calming presence in the face of incredible adversity. I am proud to call her my colleague and to have the opportunity to work with her, learn from her, and grow beside her as a nurse.
