BSN, RN, CCRN, CNML
Angel has been instrumental in implementing a service provided to patients here at Blue Ridge. Before the implementation, patients would have to be transferred or admitted to another hospital outside of their community. This demonstrates her drive for caring for the patients in our community and demonstrates her ability to be forward-thinking in the services we provide.
When we had our very first patient admitted receiving this service, Angel came in on her day off to assist the staff in providing care to the patient. This clearly demonstrates her ability to be available to her team, the commitment and dedication she has for her team, and the ownership she takes, being responsible for the needs of others.
There have been times when supplies for this treatment have been on backorder, and this leader has driven to various facilities (from Asheville to Charlotte) to obtain supplies necessary to provide the care the patient needs. She has loaded and unloaded very large, and heavy, supplies on her own to ensure the patient's care comes first.
This demonstrates her ability to role model our core values because she shows caring by making sure the patients get what they need, and she demonstrates teamwork by creating relationships with other facilities that have allowed us to obtain supplies from them to care for our patients.
She has even helped one of those facilities by lending them the same supplies that they needed to provide the treatment to one of their patients; she isn't just committed to the care our patients receive but to the care of all patients which demonstrates her integrity to simply just do the right thing.
By demonstrating these characteristics that embody our core values, she can grow her team and motivate them toward a shared vision and a shared purpose of providing the best care possible to our community, friends, and family members.
She is also furthering her education, which has required her to complete hundreds of clinical hours off-site, which is admirable and inspiring to others.
We are incredibly grateful to have this leader on our team, and we know that she will continue to put the patients first and excel as a leader for her team and for the organization for years to come.
