I worked with Amy years ago when she was here before she transferred to Russellville. She returned 5 years ago. In that time, she has painfully lost her mother, father, and brother, all of whom she became their caregiver and decision maker. Each was a difficult position for her. She has also had an uncle who has depended on her for much of his medical care and assistance.

She is also active with her family, including her husband, 4 children, and 2 grandchildren. She is also very involved in her home church of Mountain Home. She had been passionate about volunteering in the "Upper Room" since its beginning, preparing food and serving those in need. She is often called when someone needs clothes or a pile of paperwork that needs doing, which they can't understand.

I myself have seen her pick someone up off the street in the pouring rain, give the coat off her back to them, and take them to the safety of the ER while she runs to Walmart to buy them necessities. She always has a smile and will go beyond what is expected for people in need, especially our patients. She will get on the phone and won't stop until she uncovers every stone that might be of help to them. Her genuine love for people is exemplified daily while working with our and other institutes, nurses, doctors, DME's, DHR, families, and patients themselves. She wants the very best for them.

She practices what she preaches. If she herself has to go make a visit, she does it without complaint. And we all tell her to throw her phone away. She is never off without receiving phone calls from someone for something to handle, and this includes lunch. Yet she does it because it's important to her to take care of people. To us employees, she is an encourager, a listener, a prayer warrior, and our comedian.

In conclusion, she is hardworking, responsible, dependable, diligent, honest, caring, loving, giving, passionate, and silly. Does she deserve this award? She'd say "no way." But I say yes because she's been described as an angel! She has been to many and continues to be so.
