Sarah is so gentle, but when it comes to being tough, she is the nurse for the job. She knows when a person needs help.
Sarah makes sure that everything is done to help a patient. She completes FMLA documentation and orders to be faxed, and refers the patient to the department they need to go to in the next pathway of their care.
She filled out such papers and gave them to us to fax over to the department. That department faxed it back to us and wrote that they do not accept referrals unless sent through Referral Management. We do not know how to send referrals that way. We called and told them that we had to fax it over so that the patient needed their services right away. We told Sarah we were having trouble with how to get the referral over to them. Sarah went straight to their office and asked the person to show her how to put that referral into RM. They showed her, and she came back to the office and typed out the instructions on how to do those kinds of referrals. She then put the referral in herself.
She is like a dog with a bone. She always gets the job done. We now have the right way to refer a patient in iCentra, as we only work with a small part of it. The impact on the patient will be everlasting. Sarah is so gentle, but when it comes to being tough, she is the nurse for the job. She knows when a person needs help. I have seen her peek out the window when a patient is scheduled and then she is sprinting out the door to lift that patient in to the wheelchair and wheeling them in as she welcomes them and is getting a bead on how they are doing since the last time they were here. She is hardly ever still and is always on top of each of our doctors and what they want to order for the patient.
She is a delight to all around her. I love it when it's Sarah's day to work. We all do.
