I am reaching out to share my experience as a patient at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in hopes of highlighting the exemplary care I received from two of your nurses.
On the morning of my scheduled kidney surgery, I arrived at the hospital with a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. After checking in with the registration desk, I was escorted to a bed on the first floor. Shortly thereafter, I was informed that my surgery would be delayed. Despite the unforeseen wait, l was relieved when the procedure began later that afternoon.
Once my surgery concluded, I was transferred to the 4th floor for monitoring overnight. I believe it was during the evening hours that l regained consciousness and had my first encounter with Registered Nurse Daniela. I was impressed by her warm demeanor and the genuine concern she showed for my comfort and well-being. Daniela remained my overnight nurse until shift change, at which point I met Registered Nurse Lizzie.
I want to take a moment to express my immense gratitude for the exceptional care that Daniela and Lizzie provided throughout my stay. From the moment I woke up, they both demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism and compassion that made a significant difference in my recovery experience. They consistently checked on me with genuine interest, ensuring I felt supported and comfortable, before l even had to reach for the call button beside my bed.
As a patient, I had some concerns regarding post-operative procedures, and I was incredibly appreciative of how attentively they listened to my worries. Both nurses took the time to answer my questions fully, reassuring me that helped alleviate my anxiety. This was not my first experience with surgery and extended hospital stays, and I can confidently say the care I received from Daniella and Lizzie stands out as the best l've ever encountered. Their ability to connect with their patients and address their needs is truly remarkable.
