Her dedication, empathy, and unwavering commitment to her patients make her truly exceptional.
Nomination #1:
Throughout each of my pregnancies, I've experienced ongoing kidney issues. Every urologist I've seen has explained that this is simply how my body responds to pregnancy. During my second pregnancy, I visited the triage at McLaren Port Huron Hospital on three separate occasions, each time being sent home. On my final visit, I had the privilege of being cared for by a nurse named Amy. Amy's compassion and attentiveness were unparalleled, and she asked all the right questions, demonstrated incredible patience, and made sure I felt heard. Even after her shift ended, she checked on me before leaving, and I was ultimately admitted for a severe kidney infection and a kidney stone. I've shared with family and friends how I would never forget this angel of a nurse who made such an impact on my life. Now, during my current pregnancy, I found myself in the ER last night and again tonight, struggling to be taken seriously. By some stroke of luck, Amy was my nurse once more. The moment I saw her, I broke down in tears, overwhelmed with gratitude. I told her I had never forgotten her name or the kindness she showed me during my previous pregnancy. Despite working a double shift, Amy went above and beyond once again to ensure I received proper care, ultimately discovering another kidney-related issue. Her dedication, empathy, and unwavering commitment to her patients make her truly exceptional. Amy, you are my saving grace, and thank you for everything you have done and continue to do!

Nomination #2:
Amy was our labor and delivery nurse three years ago when we had our son! She was amazing! Flash forward to 2/12/25, she was our nurse again for our other son! We were so happy to have her back and remembered her the second we saw her! She had two students with her, and they were so lucky to have a patient nurse who loves to teach and is amazing at what she does. Amy was so attentive and made sure we had another calm and easy delivery! She was born to be a labor and delivery nurse! Her patients are very lucky to have her! We couldn't thank her enough for her care!

Nomination #3:
My wife and I are both nurses who work in intensive care, and we came here to have our first baby. She was our nurse for the day shift and helped us deliver our son, and we had her the next day as well. She was very attentive and sweet and loved to educate her patients. She took wonderful care of our son, and we felt he was in good hands. An example of prompt intervention was right before active labor, our baby had a heart rate that was dropping, which was concerning. She promptly came in and helped switch positions, and we discovered she was completely dilated and ready to push. The OB and Amy worked diligently to get him out fast and safely, and were able to avoid a C-section without any negative outcomes. She was very experienced and thoughtful, and deserves a shout-out with a DAISY Award.
