Anna was my nurse for several days, and when she met me, I was at the lowest point in my life I’ve ever been. I had been experiencing months of debilitating pain, multiple hospital stays that were 20-30 days long, and I was away from my family and 3-year-old daughter. 

The first night I met her, I was prepping for brain surgery and an emotional wreck. I started sobbing harder than I have ever cried and broke down in front of her. She went out of her way to talk to me until I could calm down, and she helped me through a horrific night. I was exhausted, emotionally at a breaking point. I was so scared, and the pain was so intense, and you could tell she was being authentic and she truly cared about me. She is an incredible nurse and deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond the “regular” duties. After that, she made a point to check on me when she could, and it made all the difference. I felt like I wasn’t alone.
