She has now become my role model for the way I want to care for clients, how to protect my license, and possibly down the road, teach students.
Mrs. Jamie Hudgins was my clinical instructor last semester, and I absolutely loved her. She made sure we were learning every week at clinicals and took the time to explain things to us. I wish she could be my clinical instructor every semester. She is also an amazing teacher, and she is very knowledgeable about what she is teaching. Thank you!

I am a second-semester nursing student. This is my first year at JSU. Previously, I was at Auburn University and did not have the best experience with instructors. I was extremely nervous about starting at Jacksonville, not knowing anybody. My first semester clinical was a completely different experience from what I had previously encountered. I was extremely impressed with the knowledge that my clinical instructor had during my time.
While in the first semester, I was diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia along with an arrhythmia. It is because of my clinical instructor that this was able to be taken seriously by my family and got the diagnosis. One of the most influential events that resonates with me is when I had an episode of tachycardia during a clinical rotation. My instructor saw that my face had become flushed, and I began to sweat while standing and discussing assignments for the day. She immediately became concerned and felt my face. She told me to sit down and got me some water.
My first semester clinical instructor overly prepared me for moving forward in the program. She never had an issue clarifying information, and I always knew what was expected of me. Most importantly, my clinical instructor wanted to see all of her students succeed, and I was lucky enough to also have her as my instructor for Health Assessment. She has brought back my sense of why I wanted to be a nurse. She has now become my role model for the way I want to care for clients, how to protect my license, and possibly down the road, teach students.
