She has shown that when all odds are against you that there is always hope as long as you are willing to persevere.
Mindy is student-centered and passionate. Students find her engaging. She is humble. Last year, she had a contest for all nursing students to answer NCLEX questions. I often delivered prizes to students in my classes, and they loved this. She funded this from her Lindback Award, and she got that award for teaching excellence.

Students will repeat things they learned from her two years ago, and that is a testament to how she makes a lasting impact with the foundational concepts that support the important work our colleagues do to support all of our students. Dr. Tait is a shining example of what a nurse leader should be. She is kind, an excellent communicator, and direct.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, she was the first person I reached out to because I knew she would be compassionate, honest, and assist me in navigating how to continue my education while battling my cancer. She always has students’ best interests and our future clients in mind as she leads future nurses.

I was reinstated, and when I had Dr. T, I started to believe in myself again. She showed me her grades when she was in nursing school, and I was shocked to learn that she got C's because she is brilliant. That turned the tables for me. I learned a lot from her about professionalism and inspiration. I don't know if I would have made it. I cried when I got kicked out. I know it happened for a reason.

I believe she has a true passion for teaching and nursing. She cares about her students and encourages us when we don’t feel confident. She believed in me when I started to doubt myself. A little encouragement goes a long way. She was also very welcoming to students, asking questions if they were unsure about something. Her teaching style is top tier!

One thing that she said to me that I have carried throughout this nursing program is “If the way you study works, don’t reinvent the wheel.” It was a pleasure having her as my professor! This one is for Dr. Tait. She has been an inspiration and has been realistic about what the nursing career is.

She has shown that when all odds are against you that there is always hope as long as you are willing to persevere. Her testimony was a blessing to hear because it shows me that no matter the obstacles, if we are resilient, we can obtain our goals and dreams. It’s been a blessing to have her as my professor. She is a person that surpassed all obstacles to achieve her dreams and be where she is today.
