Angela exemplifies unwavering commitment to her team and serves as an inspiring leader. She embodies understanding, empathy, and resilience, deeply connecting with her unit, staff, and the children she serves. Her approachable and supportive leadership style fosters an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
Angela became the nurse manager of 1L a little over a year ago and worked endlessly to create structure and unity on the unit. It was awesome to see her plans coming together and the level of respect she built from her staff, who finally started to feel like a team. She was recently tasked with opening up a brand-new intensive unit, and you all couldn't have chosen a better leader for this task. The amount of dedication, organization, and positivity she has brought to this transition is admirable! She has worked endlessly on evenings, weekends, and even holidays, organizing and planning for her new unit, and has been such a strong support and change agent not only for her staff but also for all employees whom this change will impact. She is such a passionate, driven, and fearless leader and deserves to be recognized!

Angela Angton has been a valuable UofL employee for over a decade! Since becoming a manager, she has proven her worth ten times over. Angela did a fantastic job bringing 1 Lourdes up to a smooth-running unit. She has also been tasked with starting a new unit while managing two other units, which is not an easy task. Angela did it not only with the utmost professionalism but with grace. She knew the new unit would be a hard sell for some staff, but she assured them everything would be fine, and it was because Angela is our leader. She is such a great leader; we all want to be better staff. She is not one to sit idly in her office away from the chaos of the unit; she is right beside us and has gladly helped on the floor to cover someone or even during code situations. We can depend on her to be there any time! She has great communication skills with her unit. She goes to great lengths to ensure staff are on the same page.

Angela is an amazing advocate for our patients. Not only is their safety a priority, but their overall well-being is important to her. She has gone above and beyond to provide for our patients, sometimes even spending her own hard-earned money to buy things for them.
When it comes to us staff, Angela does the same as she does the patients. Our well-being and safety are priority. I have never had a problem going to Angela with any issues or concerns because I know she will listen and handle it with professionalism.

Angela is a phenomenal nurse leader. Daily, she demonstrates the criteria of a DAISY Nurse. Specifically, she was the nurse manager of two units, then was handed the opening of an entirely new unit at Peace Hospital. She took this responsibility head-on, preparing her staff as well as anyone who could be floated to our unit. While acting as the nurse manager for 3 South, she has navigated through some very tumultuous and dangerous situations with professionalism, poise, and compassion. She champions for her employees as well as her patients. No one is more deserving of recognition than her.

I have worked alongside Angela for over a year and a half now as my manager. She has always gone above and beyond for her staff, with myself included. Angela makes it her mission each and every day to put staff and her patients needs at TOP priority.
In recent events-our unit has been faced with a ton of new changes, new obstacles, that come with all new protocols and stress. But our nurse manager, Angela, had held it down in such a professional, yet well grounded and compassionate way, that I could not see anyone else receiving this daisy award!
Angela puts a whole lot of her heart into what she does on the daily basis at work; through caring for our patients, and caring for her staff. I am so very grateful to have her as our manager, and would love to see her win!
Whether you’re a patient or a staff of hers, she makes your feelings valid, she makes you feel seen and heard, and she puts forth so much effort to make sure our unit runs smoothly and SAFE! All of 3 south truly loves her!

Choosing just one situation would be impossible. In the 2 yrs that I have worked with her, Angela has been thrown challenge after challenge and risen to each one. Every unit she’s been given has been built on what’s best for the patients we serve and the staff she supports. Her emphasis on teamwork goes above and beyond her own team, extending to the doctors, environmental services workers, and social services. We are one big team with a distinct goal of providing the best and most needed care for our patients. Her heart and work ethic make her the best candidate for this award. Hands down.
