I cannot begin to describe the impact that this individual has on the functioning of this unit. It comes as no surprise that the ICU is a department that is sometimes filled with sadness, but each day that Tawny steps onto the unit, the environment is a little brighter! She always has an upbeat and friendly demeanor that prompts a smile from whoever she is in contact with, patients and staff alike.

‌She is a colleague that goes above and beyond the normal day to day functions, serving as Lead for our unit, coming in early to ensure staffing needs are met, and serves as a mentor. 

She is one of the first people to jump in and help with a patient in need and she does so with such compassion, regardless of the situation. Calling her a team player would be an understatement. If I were ever a patient in this hospital, I know I would not only be in good hands with Tawny, but I would receive the best care imaginable.

She treats her patients and their families as if they were her own. She treats her coworkers like family and approaches everyone with the utmost respect and understanding. She cares with her WHOLE HEART, and it shows. Tawny is the type of person that everyone wants on their team, and she is truly one of a kind.
