Dr. Smith serves as a role model and mentor due to his clear passion for nursing and helping nursing students reach their goals. The dedication that he puts into teaching does not go unnoticed, and the personal conviction to do more than you are expected to simply because you are passionate about your job and helping others is something that I think distinguishes a good nurse from a great one. The way that he can explain nursing topics and connect dots and explain how certain things influence other things inspires me as a student to really dedicate myself to thinking critically.

Dr. Smith goes above and beyond as an instructor to ensure his students' success. He shows enthusiasm for teaching by creating engaging lectures and encouraging students to ask questions. Everything he does as an instructor shows that he has a genuine interest in helping his students fully grasp the learning material, which will help them be safe, successful nurses after graduation. This semester, he records one video per day on a nursing topic that hits on all the most important points so that we can have a good refresher on various topics throughout the semester as we prepare to take our NCLEX exams in the near future.

Dr. Smith demonstrates an interest in his students and a respect for our learning by consistently checking in with us, posting weekly announcements, and being an excellent communicator. He communicates very professionally and with a high degree of respect. He also responds quickly, which shows a respect for other people's time and needs. He is also very friendly and approachable, which makes students feel comfortable asking questions and reaching out for help.
