By the second day, we knew we not only had a good nurse in Tailor, but we felt that we had a new friend.
A cancer patient was brought to the ER due to weakness. Although in remission, this patient was still receiving prescription drug treatment after completing chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy. Further investigation revealed the patient had pneumonia. After a miserable night in the ER, the patient was transferred to 4EA. There, the patient was assigned to Tailor Marshall.
The patient shared, “After only a few trips into my husband’s room, it became apparent to us that Tailor would get things done. If she said she was going to do something or go get something, that is exactly what happened. She went about her duties quietly, pleasantly, and professionally. Through it all, Tailor continued to provide excellent care. She encouraged my husband in how he should navigate dealing with his many issues. I came to realize that Tailor was assessing my husband’s progress as she did her fine work. She not only dealt effectively with his meds but also considered the whole picture. She did countless things to make him comfortable. By the second day, we knew we not only had a good nurse in Tailor, but we felt that we had a new friend. She had my husband laughing as we talked about recipes and cooking. I deeply appreciated her discharge instructions. She had carefully highlighted the major points for us and explained everything very clearly. We left the hospital knowing what to do, thanks to Tailor. I will admit that during my husband’s hospital stay, I was stressed and upset with “the unknown,” concerning a diagnosis. However, each time Tailor came through the door, I knew my husband had an excellent health care advocate who was working in his best interests. Better still, not only did Tailor manage to make my husband feel positive about his treatment, but she also gave me hope for a good outcome. Many thanks to Tailor.”
