Tanya is not just a skilled nurse—she is the kind of caregiver every patient hopes for and every team wishes they had more of.
I am honored to nominate Tanya for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication, thoroughness, and unwavering commitment to patient care. She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, ensuring that every detail of their care is meticulously addressed.
Tanya treats every patient with compassion, dignity, and respect. She not only provides excellent clinical care but also takes the time to educate, advocate, and reassure both patients and their families. Tanya was caring for a patient who has had asthma for decades, but rather than assuming the patient knew how to appropriately administer their inhaled medication, Tanya sat with her and walked them through each step. The client mentioned that nobody had ever shown them that before, and the next day even reported to their oncoming nurse that "an excellent nurse finally showed me how to use that yesterday". Tanya's attention to detail ensures that no concern goes unnoticed, and her proactive approach helps prevent complications before they arise.
Beyond her own practice, Tanya sets a high standard for her coworkers. She leads by example, encouraging her team to provide the same level of thorough, patient-centered care. She is always willing to mentor, support, and challenge her colleagues to improve, creating a culture of excellence within the unit.
Her dedication is evident in the countless times she has stayed late to ensure a patient’s needs were met, gone the extra mile to comfort a worried family member, or stepped up to help a coworker in need. Tanya is not just a skilled nurse—she is the kind of caregiver every patient hopes for and every team wishes they had more of.
For her outstanding commitment to patient care, leadership, and compassion, I wholeheartedly nominate Tanya for the DAISY Award. She embodies what it means to be an extraordinary nurse, and her impact on both patients and staff is truly immeasurable.
