I watched the trust and admiration bloom on her part, and his knowledge, caring nature, and compassion pour seamlessly from this man's heart and soul as if they had been lifelong friends.
My granny was admitted to the ICU. Clancy was the morning RN and noticed my granny was extremely irritated and very uncomfortable. After speaking with her for a few moments he returned with a freshly brewed cup of coffee (her favorite) he visited and listened to her. While listening, he noticed she was on a posey system, and her urine was extremely dark. She had been diagnosed earlier with a UTI by another physician. He identified that she was not being administered any IV fluids, and she was complaining of a burning sensation. Clancy returned with her IV bag and got her hooked up to the fluid. She insisted he join her for a quick cup of coffee, and those two bonded like she had NEVER bonded with any medical professional ever! I watched the trust and admiration bloom on her part, and his knowledge, caring nature, and compassion pour seamlessly from this man's heart and soul as if they had been lifelong friends. In a matter of minutes, a professional yet unbelievably soft relationship had been established. The IV had helped relieve her irritation and helped her cognitive abilities dramatically! She was able to enjoy the offering of a gentle soul doing what he loves to do, and discussed everything from her medical needs to flowers and gardening.

Please recognize and honor this truly professional medical marvel with the highest honor you can. He is truly a living angel, and he should know how much he was able to accomplish with my granny over a freshly brewed cup of coffee! Thank you, Clancy, you sir are one special man, and it was our honor to have you and your expertise taking such amazing care of our Granny (our heart). Best Wishes!

Note: This is Clancy's 2nd DAISY Award!
