Taylor’s efforts have not only streamlined processes within the hospital but have also fostered stronger relationships with community partners, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive, holistic support both during and after their hospital stay. Her leadership has been key to the success of these initiatives.
I am honored to recommend Taylor Jones for the DAISY Award for Nurse Leader in recognition of her remarkable leadership and exceptional contributions to the ever-evolving development of St. Charles' inpatient behavioral health units (Sage View/PES). Over the past two and a half years, I have witnessed Taylor’s incredible growth, dedication, and impact in transforming our behavioral health units (Sage View/PES) into a model of patient-centered care. From the outset, Taylor demonstrated a clear passion for improving behavioral health services.

Taylor began as a Charge Nurse on NOC shifts and swiftly took on the challenge of leading our inpatient behavioral health units as an ANM. Soon thereafter, Taylor was promoted to Manager with a blend of compassion, vision, and determination. Through her innovative approaches and commitment to quality care, Taylor has not only enhanced patient outcomes but has also fostered a supportive, collaborative environment for the entire team. This was not an easy feat, but she persevered! Her leadership style is both empowering and inspiring. Taylor consistently encourages her staff to grow professionally (e.g. ALDP, APNA, NAADAC), and she leads by example through her own pursuit of continued learning and improvement, attending multiple nationwide trainings on Nurse Leadership (AONL), Joint Accreditation, ADLP (at St. Charles), and LEAN Leadership (at St. Charles). Her ability to navigate the complexities of behavioral health with empathy and strategic insight has made a profound impact on both the patients we serve and the healthcare professionals she leads.

Over the past two and a half years, Taylor Jones has collaborated with me to significantly improve communication and workflows between the Psychiatric Assessment Team (PAT) and Inpatient Behavioral Health (IPBH), as well as strengthen our community partnerships. Her proactive approach and commitment to enhancing interdisciplinary communication have led to smoother transitions of care, better coordination, and improved outcomes for our patients. Taylor’s efforts have not only streamlined processes within the hospital but have also fostered stronger relationships with community partners, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive, holistic support both during and after their hospital stay. Her leadership has been key to the success of these initiatives.

It is an honor, privilege, and with confidence that I nominate Taylor Jones for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Her transformative leadership and unwavering commitment to behavioral health care have made a lasting difference in our organization, and she is truly deserving of this prestigious recognition.
