Sharon Hornback demonstrates true nursing care in her work in ENDO Pre/Post. I was recovering a patient in an adjacent bay when I heard Sharon's patient receive bad news. All at once the tenor of that recovery bay changed. The patient had transformed from an ordinary discharge home to a patient and family reeling from the news. Sharon took as much time as the family and patient needed. She was able to guide the patient and family through upcoming tests and consultations all the while providing the comfort, patience, and empathy they needed. Any patient we treat and diagnose at HMH should have such a nurse. I am proud to work alongside her.
