Samie embodies compassion, respect, and a true sense of teamwork.
I watched as Samie went above and beyond to care not only for my wife as a patient but also for us as people. While she was training a new nurse, she skillfully balanced teaching the right procedures with making sure my wife felt comfortable, respected, and fully supported. It was clear she cared deeply. She was warm, personable, and took the time to truly connect with us. Even with the added responsibility of mentoring a new nurse, Samie never rushed or seemed distracted. She explained things clearly and kindly to the new staff member, all while checking in on my wife’s needs and comfort with genuine concern. Her ability to multitask with such grace showed incredible professionalism and empathy. What really stood out was how she made us feel seen. She had real conversations with us (not just clinical talk) and took the time to make sure we felt heard and cared for. We've spent a lot of time in hospitals, but we’ve never felt the level of comfort and connection that Samie gave us while we were in the hospital. Since then, I’ve run into Samie a few times at the hospital, and she still remembers us. She stops to ask how we’re doing, like we’re old friends. That small gesture means a lot. She didn’t just treat us like another patient and family, she treated us like people who matter. Samie embodies compassion, respect, and a true sense of teamwork. Her actions touched us deeply, and we’ll never forget the difference she made during a difficult time.

Samie’s actions had a lasting impact on both my wife and me, not just in the moment, but long after we left the hospital. We were discharged almost 3 months ago, and I just ran into Samie in the cafeteria while my wife was receiving another treatment. She not only stopped to say hi but also asked how my wife was doing. By taking the time to engage with us personally, asking about our day, learning our names, and remembering small details, she established trust and comfort that truly helped ease the stress of our hospital stay. That emotional connection made us feel safe and cared for in a way that was both rare and deeply appreciated. Beyond her impact on us as patients, the way she trained the new nurse also stood out. She was calm, clear, and respectful, explaining each step thoroughly while still making sure my wife felt supported. That kind of teaching not only empowered the newer nurse to succeed in her tasks but also showed her how important compassion and bedside manner are. It’s clear that Samie is helping to shape the next generation of nurses to uphold those same values of empathy and patient-centered care. Even after our stay, the impact continues. On several occasions when I’ve seen Samie at the hospital, she’s remembered us and checked in with genuine interest. That simple gesture, even just remembering us when she cares for so many others, speaks volumes. It reinforces the feeling that we weren’t just another room or case number. We mattered to her. Her kindness, attentiveness, and mentorship create a ripple effect, not only making patients feel truly seen and valued but also modeling excellence for her peers and those she’s training. The impact of her actions extends far beyond our personal experience; it strengthens the culture of care and community within our small hospital.
