Sam is a treasure, probably one of the most responsive nurses I’ve ever had. I know she was super busy tending to all her patients with much more serious, urgent needs than I had, but she still managed to accommodate me like a professional. She went beyond the call and scope of what was necessary (meds, linen changers, etc.) and made time to handle anything and everything I needed; no matter how trivial the request was, she was on it.

I can't express enough how much of a morale boost it was to have someone who was in it, heart and soul, and held my hand when I needed it most. She even took it upon herself to make multiple calls to speech eval so I could be evaluated for drinking fluids. Additionally, she took the time to help reduce my embarrassment over issues that would have otherwise made me feel like a half a man for needing help with basic functions. I felt a great deal of embarrassment, and it meant the world to me. After all, it’s been 50 years since I last needed help using the restroom.

She brought a smile and some laughter from the first time she checked on me and every time she’d pop in to make sure I was getting my needs met. No matter big or small, Sam was on it. Hold on to this one.
