Every time I look at my daughter and call her by name, I remember that midwife who delivered her, as I even named my daughter after her.

English Translation:

I came to the Emergency Department and saw this box with the words “Thank a Nurse or Midwife,” so I wanted to be among those who give thanks. First, thanks to God Almighty, who blessed me, at the time of my delivery, with the Midwife who assisted me. Every time I look at my daughter and call her by name, I remember that Midwife who delivered her, as I even named my daughter after her.

When I was pregnant, I came to the Emergency Department and was greeted with a cheerful face and an open heart—the same face I had seen a year earlier. I recognized her and said, “Do you remember me?” She replied, “No, I’m sorry.” I told her, “You were the one who delivered me a year ago, and I have never forgotten you. You reminded me of prayers for easing labor and comforted me as if you were my sister.” She smiled and said, “Thank God you remembered me with goodness.” She examined me and told me that my cervix hadn’t dilated yet. Before I left the Emergency Department, I made a heartfelt prayer that I would give birth with her by my side. And indeed, two days later, I returned and met her again. I swear by God, I felt such relief and comfort like never before. She told me, “You are good, and that’s why God placed goodness in your path.” Her words and her kindness lifted my heart and spirit—Glory be to God.

After that, I stayed longer in the Emergency Department without giving birth. The doctor told her to admit me to the Maternity Ward since labor hadn’t started yet, so she discharged me upstairs to the ward. Later, the Midwife came to check on me again. About two hours later, I was told that if labor didn’t progress, they might need to take another measure. Then God sent her in to check on me, and I gave birth naturally.

The moment she entered, she told me, “Say: O Lord, make it easy and do not make it hard.” She kept reciting verses and prayers for easing childbirth and held my hand. I swear I had never seen a Midwife like her, reminding me of verses and prayers with such a radiant smile that opened the heart. I told her I felt pressure below, and when she checked, she said, “Thank God, the baby’s head is here.” She delivered me, and I had a baby girl, whom I named after her. God answered my prayer.

May God bless her wherever she is, ease all her affairs, and grant her parents—who raised her—paradise. May He increase people like her with such manners and kindness. Truly, even if I tried to describe her from today until tomorrow, I would never do her justice. I hope these words reach her. May God grant her everything she wishes for. May He reward her for her work and for her smile that brightens hearts. I haven’t met her since that day, but may God gather us again in goodness.
