She's in the parents' corner as much as possible, as it can be very lonely on the parent side.
Natasha has taken the time and care to learn my daughter's day-to-day care back to front. No matter the plans, she will always act in my daughter's best interests. She takes time out of her busy day to help parents through tough times. She will always make herself available, when possible, to help parents. As long-standing patients here, we have never felt so supported. We can talk freely with Natasha with no judgment.
Always Welcoming
Whenever plans are made by consultants, Natasha will always keep us informed. She takes our opinions into account and expresses our concerns between consultants and us even when we have had difference of opinions with the team. She will take the time to sit and explain things when we aren't 100% sure. And she always acts in our child's best interests. We feel 1000% safe leaving and resting when we know she's on shift.
Always Expert
Natasha has taken the time to learn about my child's disorder in order to provide the best care possible. But she doesn't just follow the book. She reads my child's needs and acts on that, generally using the book as a guide. She won't give up even when consultants have. And will take any necessary precautions to prevent an escalation to the ICU. She has used her knowledge to teach us a lot about her condition and how to understand her needs better.
Always One Team
Natasha works a lot with students, guiding them in detail. Anything any of the team doesn't understand, whether it's the level of care or the level of attention each and every patient needs, she will help where she can. She's helped multiple nurses with care. She takes the time to learn each patient's care, so she knows it back to front. And in the long run, it really helps each and every patient she has contact with.
Always Helpful
Natasha doesn't give up even when others do. She will keep going with care where safe. She escalates quickly, with the extra attention she gives to patient care, she knows exactly when to escalate and when to battle. If she knows a decision is wrong, she will battle it, whether that's with doctors or even us. But she will take the time to explain her reasoning and work with us for a solution. She's in the parents' corner as much as possible, as it can be very lonely on the parent side. And to have a nurse's support really makes a big difference.
