My husband was coming out of Brain Surgery (Burr Hole Drainage) and we were welcomed by the best nurse we've ever had at the time we needed it most. You can imagine we were a mess, but Shahid was comforting, knowledgeable, and so helpful when we were lost. Coming out of anesthesia, my husband’s throat was very painful from the tubes from the anesthesia. Shahid showed up immediately with a popsicle that soothed his very sore throat. Next, when my husband could not get warm, Shahed showed up with a warmed blanket. Shahed kept his pain managed by checking frequently on his pain level. My husband is vegan, and Shahid made sure the kitchen came through with something he could eat, which was everything since he hadn't eaten in many hours. On our 2nd day with Shahid, my husband (who is very fit and had been stuck in a bed for days) made the comment, I haven't been able to move in days and Shahid said, "We're going for a walk!" And he bundled the drain and tubes all up and took us for a stroll around the hospital. This 20-minute walk around the hospital made all the difference. We're forever grateful for him.
