She made him feel seen, heard, and cared for in a way you always hope for when your loved one is in a vulnerable place.
During Dad’s stay here in January, Mo was his nurse for the last three days before he was discharged home on hospice care. He received a cancer diagnosis and news that it was not operable. It was a very emotional and stressful time, especially paired with his new, uncontrolled pain. Mo was incredible. She was very responsive and attentive. Dad says that it’s very obvious that she has a heart for nursing and her patients. She made him feel seen, heard, and cared for in a way you always hope for when your loved one is in a vulnerable place. He loved the way she made him laugh, and she took some of the fear away from the scary diagnosis he had received. Dad raved about Mo during and after his stay. Even when he got home, he was still talking about how wonderful she was to him.
He came back into the hospital at the end of February to the Hospice wing, and Mo asked to have him as an extra patient in her assignment. After Dad’s first day, he was mostly sedated and confused, but her being there helped me feel comfortable enough to go home to my kids. She carried over her love and respect for him from his previous stay and treated him so well. Even when he may not have known what was happening, she treated him with love and respect the whole time. She, once again, was quick to respond to his needs. She is great at communicating and following up, and just a joy to speak with. She was there when we found out we were losing him and then again when it was actually happening and brought all of us so much comfort, mentally and physically. It's hard to point out any one thing she did because she was so wonderful the whole time. Our family forever loves Mo. She is exactly what you wish for when your loved one needs care. She has our trust and so much appreciation.
