She encourages us to view things from a new perspective or from different angles to capture the full picture for patient care. She challenges us to anticipate potential complications and have a plan of action to succeed.
Professor Howard goes above and beyond for all nursing students not just those in her clinical or mentor group. As a new professor in the nursing program, Professor Howard has transitioned into her role expertly. Students feel comfortable approaching Professor Howard to ask questions, for help, and for feedback. One thing that stands out to me regarding Professor Howard is the way she connects with students. During my clinical with Professor Howard, she went out of her way to get to know me as a person, not just as her student. Though other professors will still be friendly in the halls after we finish their semester, Howard always takes time out of her day to stop and chat. Professor Howard meets all the criteria deserving of the DAISY Nurse Educator Award. I would like to thank her for her ongoing support throughout my time in the nursing program. Professor Howard wholeheartedly deserves this honor. I hope she understands how special she is to this program and the impact she leaves on the lives of her students.

I want to thank this professor for everything she has done for not only my clinical group but also my nursing cohort. We are all very grateful for the time she puts in to educating and encouraging us as we continue to take steps towards becoming nurses. She goes to great lengths to ensure we are growing and critically thinking while in the clinical and classroom settings. She is motivating and encouraging, and I am so grateful to have had her for a clinical professor. She is the type of nurse I hope to become one day. She is passionate, kind, intelligent, and always seeking to help others. She was also able to connect and communicate with us in a way that made us all feel comfortable and safe while in clinicals. It was the exact type of support system we needed to properly grow in our roles. Every clinical, she continued to show us ways to improve our thinking and skills to become better nurses. She encourages us to view things from a new perspective or from different angles to capture the full picture for patient care. She challenges us to anticipate potential complications and have a plan of action to succeed. I am so thankful for the mindset and education she instilled in us and am eager to apply it throughout the rest of my learning and professional journey.
