Compassion is at the core of how she leads. No matter the situation, she approaches everyone with respect and professionalism, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.
I am honored to nominate this person for the DAISY Award, as she truly embodies the ICARE values—Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence—every single day. She is a remarkable model of compassionate leadership, consistently treating every member of our team as a whole person, recognizing that we all have lives and responsibilities outside of the hospital. Even with a huge team, she remembers their children’s names, the goings on in their lives. 

Her integrity is evident in her transparency. She openly acknowledges her own mistakes, fostering a culture of trust where staff feel safe to bring concerns forward without fear of judgment. I’ve seen her openly admit to making mistakes in meetings to the whole team and taking responsibility for things that have impacted others. Leaders rarely do this in such an open way. This honesty strengthens our team, encouraging growth, learning, and continuous improvement.

She leads by example, not just from behind a desk but as an active participant in the day-to-day operations of our 50+ clinics. When staffing is short, she doesn’t hesitate to jump in—covering shifts, taking on extra tasks, and doing whatever is needed to support the team. She never sees a task as beneath her and works alongside us to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care.

She holds herself and others accountable while fiercely advocating for our team. When other services attempt to push boundaries or offload extra work onto our team, she steps up, ensuring that we are treated fairly and that expectations remain reasonable. We know that she always has our backs.

Even with an immense workload, she continuously looks for ways to strengthen our team dynamics, fostering an environment of professional growth, development, and opportunity. She encourages us to expand our skills and take on new challenges, always leading with guidance and support.

I cannot think of anyone I would be prouder to work under or learn from as a leader. She is not just a supervisor—she is a mentor, a role model, and the heart of our team. Her dedication, integrity, and unwavering support make her truly deserving of this recognition.
