His empathy and professionalism made a challenging hospital stay much more manageable, and we are so grateful for the way he cared for her.
Michael provided outstanding care to my mom during his day shift in the Flex Unit. From the very beginning of his shift, Michael stood out because of his exceptional communication skills, empathy, and genuine dedication to my mom’s well-being. He went above and beyond to make sure that my mom not only received the care she needed but also fully understood her care plan.
He explained her treatment goals and challenges clearly and compassionately, ensuring that she was engaged and confident in her care decisions. Michael also advocated for my mom in her interactions with providers, effectively communicating her needs and concerns so that her voice was heard in her care. This kind of advocacy is invaluable to patients and families, and it reassured us that my mom’s best interests were always at the forefront.
Beyond his clinical expertise, Michael’s bedside manner was exactly what patients and families hope for in a nurse: friendly, approachable, and supportive. He treated my mom with kindness and respect, and he made us, as her family, feel comfortable and included. His empathy and professionalism made a challenging hospital stay much more manageable, and we are so grateful for the way he cared for her.
Michael’s dedication, advocacy, and compassionate approach truly reflect the values of nursing excellence that the DAISY Award honors. We are deeply appreciative of the outstanding care he provided.
