I am honored to nominate this exceptional nurse leader for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award, someone who truly exemplifies the qualities of a servant leader. She goes above and beyond for patients, the unit, and the staff, making a lasting impact on everyone she encounters.

Whether it’s the busiest day on the unit with high acuity or moments of heightened stress, she is always present, stepping out of her office to lend a helping hand. She doesn’t just oversee from a distance rather she jumps in, assisting nurses, providers, and techs in their duties, ensuring no one is ever left unsupported. She has actively coded patients and even taken heavy patient assignments of her own to help relieve the unit’s stress during critical times. If a team member is feeling unwell or struggling, she notices immediately and takes action to ensure their well-being, both physically and emotionally. The well-being of the staff is always a priority for her.

What truly sets her apart is her humility and dedication to the success of everyone around her. She ensures the team is well-stocked with supplies, even running errands herself when urgent needs arise. Her generosity extends beyond her own unit, offering extra staff and help to other ICUs in need. She is accountable, trustworthy, and an incredible role model to all of us.

Her approach to leadership goes beyond oversight; it’s about genuinely caring for each person and every situation that arises. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to jump into action are unparalleled. Many of us rely on her, and we all look to her as a role model.
