Since Megan has assumed the role of clinical nurse manager, I feel the morale of the unit has improved tremendously.
Megan became the clinical nurse manager of Crossroads Behavioral Health a few years ago. During this time, she has led the team to drive positive change and improve the morale of the department. Currently, her nurse turnover rate is 0% and has been for several months. She is passionate about mental health and is an amazing collaborator with all disciplines. She holds her team to a high standard, and they have demonstrated their love and compassion for this patient population. Her team has shared testimonies about her leadership as well:
"Since Megan has assumed the role of clinical nurse manager, I feel the morale of the unit has improved tremendously. She truly cares about her staff and patients and wants the best for us. She has not only undertaken her role, but she has also been doing much of the duties of the director. She works long hours, and sometimes she is here until 9 pm or later. Many nights I have said, "When are you going home?" She just smiles and says she has a few more things to finish, yet she never grumbles! She helps out on the unit when she can. I have been in the mental health field for many years in various settings, and she is one of my supervisors over the years who I know truly cares. Her passion for mental health and our unit shows in all she does!"
Megan has been an incredible boss the year I have worked here. You would never know that our director has been out for a very long time, the way Megan runs the unit. Megan always has weekly updates, the schedule, educational material due dates, and other stats/figures out to the unit on time and never late. Megan is essentially on call 24/7 and is on the unit around 12 hours a day 5 days a week and she is always pleasant and helpful. Megan is the first to thank or congratulate someone for their assistance, quick thinking, life updates, career updates, etc. Even when something does fall through the cracks, Megan is the first to take ownership of the mistake and works with others to help rectify the situation. It is very challenging to be in middle management, but Megan has continued to manage it with grace, almost no complaints, and a smile on her face. Megan demonstrates an unparalleled amount of dedication and leadership. The unit would fall apart without her. Mega is supportive of her team, her leaders, and additional team members/providers. Thank you for the opportunity to nominate Meagan for this award.
