Kacie is different; she wasn’t supposed to know us beyond the hospital walls. What our interests are, what our struggles are, and how she can help. Kacie is always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate our needs.
Kacie started her journey with our team on Unit B in 2018. At that time, she was a charge nurse on the 5th floor who had volunteered to come to our unit to orient the charge nurses on the new formatting template we would be using for assignments and reports. She showed initiative during that time and grew to love our team.
Kacie officially became a part of our team in 2019 as our manager. Shortly after learning the ropes, COVID hit. Kacie was tasked with opening up a unit with policies and procedures specific to keeping the nurses and PCAs working in a safe unit. During this time, Kacie was not only managing Unit B but also the COVID Unit staff. She showed exceptional leadership throughout the entire epidemic. Trailblazing to create a safe environment and frequently asking for feedback. Kacie truly honed in on her skills and utilized her relationships to make this possible.

Kacie is always willing to go the extra mile to accommodate our needs. She has made our unit feel like a true family, leading by example and encouraging us to do unit gatherings.
Kacie expresses empathy by creating one-on-one time to explore the depths of what someone may be going through that is affecting their work. Kacie is respectful of our knowledge and will ask for recommendations on a project or implementation. She truly cares about what the unit consensus is and explores other options if the first plan doesn’t pan out.
Kacie’s kindness is contagious. She frequently brings doughnuts for the staff and adjusts her hours to make herself available to both the day and night shifts. During Nurse Appreciation Week, Kacie curated the sweetest themed days.
Kacie is our hero, and we are so grateful to have her as our leader.
