Trust is an essential piece for a patient/nurse relationship and Jessica far exceeded my expectations. Jessica always puts her patients first.
I am a patient of Dr. Leonard having received treatment from September to November 2021. During this time I had the pleasure of meeting Jessica Rocha, RN. To say that Jessica was instrumental in my well-being and healing is an understatement. Jessica's caring nature, knowledge, and experience are beyond comparison. She is one of the hardest working members I have encountered in the medical field and is very timely in her response to patient questions and care. I am happy to report that I am doing well, not 100%, but on the right path.

Thank you to Jessica for answering all my questions during treatment, and for truly caring about my recovery right through to the present day! You are an amazing RN and deserve all the accolades possible.

Jessica is a dedicated professional working in the radiation department at the Lifespan Cancer Institute at Rhode Island Hospital. Working with patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, Jessica handles patients at a time in their life where empathy, understanding, compassion, and dignity are key. Jessica exemplifies all of these! Jessica truly cares for each patient and can balance a sense of humor with straightforward answers and support. Jessica's care for patients undergoing radiation is critical as she advocates for her patients, communicates quickly with detail, and offers comfort to people going through the scariest moments of their lives.

Jessica has found a way to strike a unique balance between professionalism and being down-to earth in the medical setting. As a patient of Jessica's, I was instantly at ease and trusted her judgement, advice, and knowledge. Trust is an essential piece for a patient/nurse relationship and Jessica far exceeded my expectations. Jessica always puts her patients first. She has helped facilitate timely answers to questions from the medical team. When a patient is undergoing treatment for cancer, there are so many doctors on the team that having a central place to direct questions is essential. Jessica has a way of putting fears to rest simply by communicating to her patients quickly with advice, answers, or if she has to talk with the medical staff first, she still has the patient in the loop. With Jessica, you know you will receive a prompt reply.

Jessica has a patient-centered way of delivering care. Jessica has empathy for her patients and instantly puts them at ease with her friendly disposition and knowledge. The patient's needs and concerns come first, and yet patients feel they are part of the team working toward a common end goal. With Jessica as their nurse, patients do not feel they are going through the process alone. Jessica cheers them on when needed and provides guidance and courage as they navigate a very difficult time. What's most impressive is the follow up notes post-treatment. Jessica doesn't stop being available once treatment is done and continues to communicate long after the last radiation beam dims.
