I feel the patience and mercy provided by your staff of doctors and nurses (especially Jenna) got my Dad in the right place to make good decisions to start his recovery and improve his quality of life.
My father was admitted to the hospital via the emergency room and had a several-day stay in Early September 2024. This incident is related to a blood clot that went into his lung. Dad has suffered a large number of injuries in his lifetime, including some from combat, including a bullet wound and some issues from surviving helicopter crashes to injuries working in the trades, including a long fall from a collapsing scaffold to living through an oxygen explosion. At 76, he says he will admit to many bad choices as well and says he would have taken better care of his body if he expected to survive this long! At the same time as his hospitalization, my mother is receiving outpatient treatment for stage 4 colon cancer at your hospital. In short, my parents are in a tough phase of life with their health.
Nurse Jenna was extremely patient in her recommendations to my Mother about my Dad's care. She was also extremely kind and non-judgmental about my Dad's condition and the self-inflicted portions where he could have been taking better care of himself. When she had time, she stopped to listen to a couple of stories about my Dad, which made him feel a connection. Also, she listened to my Mom's concerns and somewhat weaved conversation style. Jenna pulled me aside to ask me a couple of questions and made a connection with me, and we talked about some things my folks were resistant to (like Dad going to an inpatient rehab hospital).
Dad is currently at an inpatient rehab now and is progressing in his mobility and health while they are monitoring his issues and helping him to improve each day. I feel the patience and mercy provided by your staff of doctors and nurses (especially Jenna) got my Dad in the right place to make good decisions to start his recovery and improve his quality of life. I also believe in hiring people such as Jenna, who has the education and skills of a nurse but also has an exceptional understanding of emotional intelligence and how to effectively and gently persuade, which has helped my dad and, by extension, my mother and me as well. I am grateful! Thank you so much!!
