Drawing on her academic knowledge and professional experience, Jayne offers valuable recommendations during CAC meetings aimed at enhancing the student learning experience and better preparing students for their future professional nursing roles.
Although I have not directly observed Jayne's interactions with patients and families, I have had the opportunity to witness her engaging with faculty and staff. She consistently demonstrates kindness, thoughtfulness, and a high level of consideration toward others.

Jayne voluntarily joined the Curriculum and Assessment Committee (CAC) for the 2024-2025 academic year. In just a few months, she has already established a connection with the members of the committee. She is respectful, professional, and always willing to share her perspective on topics discussed during committee meetings. In addition to being a member of a major College of Nursing committee, Jayne is also in her final year of the BS to DNP program. Drawing on her academic knowledge and professional experience, Jayne offers valuable recommendations during CAC meetings aimed at enhancing the student learning experience and better preparing students for their future professional nursing roles. As a student member of the Curriculum and Assessment committee, Jayne is not required to participate in the program review process. When the program review assignments were discussed, she immediately asked if students could participate because she was interested in being involved. I worked with Jayne and another faculty member on a course review this semester and was impressed with Jayne's willingness and desire to learn. It is clear that she is not only interested in her own professional growth, but is dedicated to improving the quality of the programs at the College of Nursing.

During committee meetings, Jayne frequently asks for clarification if there's something she does not understand. She is not afraid to speak up and share her own experiences and ideas. I have not had the opportunity to witness Jayne in the clinical or classroom settings, however she does share her experiences during CAC meetings when they pertain to topics being discussed. It is obvious that Jayne is a conscientious, hard-working student who goes above and beyond in every setting.

Being part of a College of Nursing committee is not required for students, but Jayne chose to take this role on in addition to being a student in a very busy program. Additionally, she participates in the program review process, which requires her to dedicate even more time to the college. After knowing her for a very short amount of time, it has become obvious to me that she cares deeply about the nursing profession and truly wants to make a difference.
