Jasmin takes time to understand her patients' lived experiences and serves as a stabilizing force in moments of crisis—especially for those who often feel overlooked in healthcare settings.
Jasmin Jones goes beyond clinical care to meet the emotional, cultural, and social needs of her patients and their families. She recognizes how trauma, grief, and socioeconomic hardship impact health outcomes and tailors her care to provide not only treatment but dignity, empathy, and presence. Jasmin takes time to understand her patients' lived experiences and serves as a stabilizing force in moments of crisis—especially for those who often feel overlooked in healthcare settings.
Whether by offering emotional reassurance, advocating for ethical care plans, or remaining by the bedside during difficult transitions, she provides whole-person care rooted in compassion and equity. In addition to her hospital work, Jasmin has completed over 100 hours of community service focused on food insecurity, STEM education, and supporting underserved families—extending her commitment to health equity far beyond the bedside.
Jasmin once cared for a critically ill patient with advanced dementia from a historically underserved background. Though the patient had been combative the day before, Jasmin recognized the distress beneath the behavior and advocated for comfort care. She remained at the bedside for hours during the patient’s final moments, ensuring a peaceful and dignified transition—while also offering quiet strength to the daughter, who was navigating complex grief and emotional overwhelm.
The daughter later returned with lunch for Jasmin and the unit, saying, “You gave me the strength to say goodbye. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else there with us.” Jasmin had skipped meals and breaks to provide exceptional care—not for recognition, but because she knew this family deserved peace, even in loss. This wasn’t just a kind gesture, it was a healing experience for a family who expected chaos and instead found comfort and humanity. Jasmin’s care helped restore trust in a system that often fails to center marginalized voices.
