She is an innovator in teaching. It is not just the lectures from textbooks that matter, but she also mentors, supports, and inspires every student to do their best every step of the way in achieving their goals.
Imarie Mae Luna Echeverria, RN, LPT, is a registered nurse and a licensed professional teacher. She has been practicing her nursing profession for 14 years, from being a volunteer, clinic nurse, RN Heals employee, to a military nurse. She has been a faculty member for three years in the ROTC Units at Cavite State University, Main Campus, Indang, Cavite, and Kurios Christian College Foundation Inc., Magallanes, Cavite, comprising students from various courses. She has also been an instructor of the trainees conducted at Reserve Command Training School, RESCOM, PA. She teaches military science subjects, but focuses more on basic and combat life-saving modules. SSg Echeverria (MS) PA exemplifies nursing excellence with her unwavering commitment that goes above and beyond to patient care, education, and mentorship. She stands as a crucial pillar of her unit, delivering exceptional clinical care and expertise that significantly enhances the well-being of both patients and colleagues. As a nurse educator, it’s the impact of what you impart that matters most, especially the values that are instilled. She is an innovator in teaching. It is not just the lectures from textbooks that matter, but she also mentors, supports, and inspires every student to do their best every step of the way in achieving their goals. Her passion and dedication for nursing ignite a fire in her students. She has been teaching basic and combat life-saving modules, which are relatively important and could be used in any untoward circumstances. The knowledge and skills are to be used in shaping every student to be compassionate and skilled in facing any challenge. She has prepared students to become leaders in their chosen field by providing the best possible and relevant education. SSg Echeverria (MS) PA’s commitment to mentorship extends beyond the four walls of the classroom. She is one call away for every student who has difficulty understanding lectures and skill activities. One of the schools she handled won the Champion title for three consecutive years in the Regional Annual Administrative Inspection, specifically in the Basic Life Support parameters. Students were eager to learn and succeed through her guidance and supervision. SSg Echeverria (MS) PA patiently guides junior nurses and dedicatedly teaches them about the 5W’s to have a conducive and friendly working environment. Building rapport with patients, students, and colleagues can be of great help towards a workforce of equity and dignity. SSg Echeverria (MS) PA is one of the researchers of the study previously presented in the Philippine Army Nursing Service. For two consecutive years, their study was chosen as Best Research Paper. The research made an impact and change both on the benefactors and organizations. The recommendations of the study were used and implemented.
