She consistently creates a supportive, challenging, and inspiring learning environment that emphasizes clinical excellence, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Sundeen deserves the DAISY award because of her unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to shaping the next generation of nurse practitioners. She has left a profound and lasting impact on both students and the nursing profession. As an educator, Dr. Sundeen goes far beyond the classroom. She consistently creates a supportive, challenging, and inspiring learning environment that emphasizes clinical excellence, ethical practice, and patient-centered care. Dr. Sundeen leads by example, demonstrating every day what it means to be a nurse who serves with both skill and heart. Whether guiding students through complex clinical simulations, mentoring during challenging rotations, or simply offering a listening ear, she consistently fosters resilience, integrity, and confidence in every student she teaches. She kept a telephone appointment with me even while on her way to the hospital amid a serious health crisis for a close family member. That is the level of her commitment to her students. My peers consistently speak of Dr. Sundeen's encouragement, patience, and deep empathy.

These qualities help to make even complex concepts more understandable and stressful experiences more manageable. I have no doubts that Dr. Sundeen's influence will NOT end at graduation. The foundational values and knowledge she has instilled in me and other students will follow us into our careers as APRNs and shape us into successful and compassionate providers like herself. At a time when the nursing profession faces both great demands and great opportunities, Dr. Sundeen stands as a beacon of hope, integrity, and excellence. Her commitment not only uplifts students but also strengthens the mission of Baylor University to prepare nurses who serve with leadership and compassion.

For these reasons, I wholeheartedly nominate this extraordinary faculty member for The DAISY Award. Her work truly embodies the spirit and purpose of this honor: recognizing those who inspire, lead, and heal through the power of nursing education.
