She is a safe haven for staff, both mentally and emotionally, and always puts their needs ahead of her own personal ambition.
Servant leadership is often defined as leaders who prioritize the growth and well-being of their team before their own personal ambition. Servant leaders tend to have high employee engagement and strong teamwork.
Our Nurse Leader lives that definition daily, and her work has impacted every department in the facility. She has grown our float pool team into a highly skilled, reliable group of nurses and PCTs, whose strong work ethic is appreciated on every unit they are assigned to. This team serves as preceptors and charge nurses throughout the facility and has the same can-do attitude as the leader.
She recently advocated for this team to have a recognition celebration and delivered on the request of a staff breakroom. The transport team achieved 100% employee engagement and have grown from underperformance to excellence under her leadership with advancing transports per man hour from 1.2 to 2.3. She is our champion for sitter reduction and has achieved a 12% reduction from our baseline in February and is exceeding the goal with .62 man-hours per patient day in November MTD.
She is a safe haven for staff, both mentally and emotionally, and always puts their needs ahead of her own personal ambition. She is an advocate ensuring the needs of her team are communicated to senior leadership and also ensures they are meaningfully recognized. She is always willing to say yes and lend a helping hand whenever needed.
