Cami is an incredible Nurse Educator. She wears her scrubs to work every day and never hesitates to leave her office to assist out on the floor, answering call lights, taking patients to the restroom, and supporting staff. She leads by example and has a genuine care and concern for each individual on the Shock Trauma team.
She performs check-ins regularly and thoughtfully puts together education plans for our entire staff. She takes every concern seriously and takes the necessary steps to resolve issues. She cares deeply about the well-being of staff, patients, and their families. She takes the time to individually mentor those who want to do more for the unit, and particularly with iAspire, our professional development program.
She helps our staff with unit projects and helps them accomplish the goals they set for themselves. In the few short months she's been our Educator, she has grown so much and has improved Shock Trauma for the better! We always joke that the couch in her office is the "therapy couch" because everyone feels welcome to come sit down and share their concerns and worries with Cami, who listens with compassion and care. She helps support and counsel others in a kind, loving, and non-judgmental way.
Cami is extraordinary. Her compassion, kindness, and care are felt by all those who interact with her in our unit. Our staff feel cared for and safe with Cami as our Educator. They know they have someone who supports them and has their back, no matter what is happening. It is such a massive relief when Cami is here because she deals with issues and concerns that arise in our unit directly and professionally. She brings our team together and inspires the best in others and holds us all to a higher standard.
She really believes in what she is doing. The care we provide at Shock Trauma has a profound impact on those we serve, so she pushes us to deliver the best possible care.
