Ashley consistently shares her innovative ideas and ambitious goals with staff and providers to promote ensuring a brighter, healthier future for our moms and babies.
We are honored to nominate Ashley Starner, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, Women and Children Clinical Practice Specialist, for the DAISY Nurse Educator Award. Although relatively new to the role, Ashley consistently shares her innovative ideas and ambitious goals with staff and providers to promote ensuring a brighter, healthier future for our moms and babies. Ashley is committed to evidence-based practice and fostering an environment of teamwork to enhance the quality of care provided at NGMC. Ashley is involved in data collection submission to the Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative (GaPQC) regarding maternal hypertension and post-partum hemorrhage. With this program, she learns what others in the state of Georgia are doing and compares outcomes to ensure we are at the highest level of practicing evidence-based practice.
Ashley is responsible for reviewing all policies and procedures in Women and Children’s. She has taken the initiative on a project regarding the Identification of the Newborn Procedure. She has ensured that staff feedback and suggestions are included in this procedure. Ashley has also taken the initiative to organize a multidisciplinary case review. She aims to discuss the usual management protocols and allow ample time for a collaborative discussion of the case amongst staff and providers to ensure optimal care is provided. Ashley has played a pivotal role as a mentor and advisor to numerous staff members who seek to further their education and careers. She is dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of the future of nursing.
