What truly stood out was Amy’s calm demeanor, genuine empathy, and ability to connect with our niece on a personal level.
Recently, our family experienced an unexpected and frightening event when our young niece was involved in a serious accident. She was brought to Flagstaff Medical Center for care, and after being moved to the regular floor on the Third Floor, West Wing, we met a nurse who made a lasting difference for all of us: Amy Frazier. From the moment Amy began caring for our niece, her impact was profound. She was not only attentive to our niece’s medical needs, but she was also deeply attuned to the emotions and fears our family was experiencing. Despite the demands of her busy schedule, Amy consistently took time to listen, to answer our questions, and to provide reassurance. Her care encompassed so much more than routine tasks. Amy routinely assessed our niece’s condition, administered medications and treatments, monitored her progress, and worked closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible plan of care. She explained every step in clear, compassionate terms, helping to replace fear with understanding. What truly stood out was Amy’s calm demeanor, genuine empathy, and ability to connect with our niece on a personal level. She made her feel like more than just a patient - she made her feel valued, safe, and cared for. That same kindness extended to our entire family, offering comfort during one of the most stressful times we have ever faced. We will always be grateful for Amy’s exceptional skill, compassion, and presence. Her dedication left an indelible mark on our family, and we believe she is the perfect example of what the DAISY Award represents.

A specific situation where a nurse made a profound difference in our family's time of need happened most recently (although, as a family, we do not have many experiences with nurses), but our niece was involved in an unexpected, but very scary accident just last week, and she ended up at Flagstaff Medical Center. As our niece was moved to the regular floor for further care, a nurse named Amy Frazier was instrumental in helping not only our niece, but she was also able to understand our emotions during our niece's hospital stay on the third floor, west wing. Despite her busy schedule, Amy consistently took the time to listen to our fears and patiently provided a wide range of services that encompassed physical, emotional, and educational support to my niece, including us as our niece's family. Amy routinely assessed our niece's condition, administered medications and treatments, monitored our niece's progress, and collaborated with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans while explaining what each one was. She explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, reducing our fear. Amy's calm demeanor and genuine care helped our niece and us feel less overwhelmed during this very difficult time. What truly stood out during our niece's stay was Amy's consistent presence and her ability to connect with my niece and us on a personal level. She made our niece feel more than just a patient; she made her feel cared for. We are incredibly grateful for our niece's care and compassion from Amy Frazier.
