Gus was a very helpful and knowledgeable tech, super caring for his patients. Thank you so much for your support with my son. Leslie was also very caring and supportive. Thank you both! I appreciate you!

I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I take a moment to express my deepest heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care I received that I truly believe saved my life. In the span of just 24 hours, I found myself diagnosed with COVID and facing a rapid deterioration in my health that left me teetering on the edge of life and death. It was at that critical moment that I made the decision to seek emergent care at GEC, a place where I had always been met with excellent and compassionate treatment in the past.

From the moment I arrived at the ER, I was enveloped in a blanket of care and support by Kathleen Bradley, who wasted no time in recognizing the severity of my condition and swiftly rallying a physician to my bedside. Kathleen’s presence was a source of immense comfort, her actions marked by unwavering diligence and attentiveness to my rapidly declining health. And when Gladys Kamau joined her in the fight to save my life, their teamwork was nothing short of extraordinary. Together they provided me with reassurance, comfort, and a sense of security as they worked tirelessly to pull me back from the brink. They were my champions that day, my guardian angels in one of my darkest hours. With every breath I struggled to take, they fought for me. With every moment of weakness, they stood by my side, offering encouragement and unwavering positivity. They spoke for me when my voice failed me and never once wavered in their commitment to see me through to the other side.

The entire team that worked tirelessly to save me that day, from the physicians to the techs, demonstrated a level of skill and compassion that is truly unmatched. Their dedication and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on my heart, and for that, I will be eternally grateful. Thank you for being my lifeline when I needed it most.

Yelitze, Jojo, and Carol were all detail-oriented, attentive, and showed empathy to me during my stay.

I would like to take a moment to extend my gratitude and a big thank-you to the following ladies. First, there is Yelitze. What a helper. What I would have done without her. She even helped me with things beyond taking care of my nursing needs. She was in the right place at the right time. What a wonderful gift to this unit. I needed help, and she was right there.

Carleen was just the kind of nurse everyone needs. She checked ahead and made sure there was a bed at Shady Grove Hospital before I left the Emergency Room. It was an extra special touch that most people don’t give. Can you imagine watching someone doing that extra touch? Getting the room number, extra covers so you can cuddle up like you brought a teddy bear. Just what a person needed – a little extra love for a person who needed a warm teddy bear. She made me feel special during a tragic time. That time was a major back surgery that just did not turn out right.

Karla was genuine, sweet, kind, and thoughtful – ready for that big word called service. A word that is hard to find in nurses.

Now for the very special person – the doctor. It’s hard to find a good one. Dr. Lankenau is honest, calm, and ready to smile and work. Yep, no complaint on her face. She is tough and proud to do a job most people are tired of. She’s a doctor with a nurse’s qualities and she treats her coworkers as equals. There is no putting nurses down because she has a bigger title. She truly believes in privacy and the golden rule of HIPAA. She keeps people’s business with the people she’s working with. To sum it up, Yelitze, Karla, Carleen, and Dr. Lankenau are as bright as a sunny day of DAISIES. They are extraordinary nurses and a very special doctor. Do all you can to keep them, because they are certainly keepers. They make time to meet and greet when you come into the emergency room. There is truly nothing like a good nurse and a great doctor because they are open to suggestions about your health. I feel better, and that is the truth. I am not afraid in case the medicine should run out.

I received true compassionate care from Gus and Radha from the moment I came in to the time I left. You can tell they love their jobs. They both went above and beyond. They made an awful situation more tolerable.
