I am profoundly grateful for her expertise, professionalism, and readiness to help when it was needed most.
I would like to recognize Theresa for her exceptional support, leadership, and unwavering commitment to patient care and staff development.
Recently, while caring for a patient experiencing a postpartum hemorrhage, I found myself in a critical situation where I did not feel comfortable managing the case independently. Despite having completed her scheduled shift and being ready to go home after what was surely a long day, Theresa made the selfless decision to stay and provide hands-on assistance and guidance.
Her clinical expertise was evident as she calmly helped implement evidence-based interventions while teaching me throughout the process. She explained her clinical reasoning, walked me through each step, and created a psychologically safe environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and learning.
Rather than simply taking over, she empowered me to participate actively while providing the support I needed, helping me build confidence and develop critical skills I will carry throughout my career.
Most importantly, her willingness to stay directly contributed to ensuring the patient received safe, timely, and effective care during a life-threatening emergency.
Theresa's actions exemplify true nursing leadership—not just clinical excellence, but compassion, patience, and genuine investment in colleague development. She demonstrated that great nurses don't just care for patients; they care for each other.
I am profoundly grateful for her expertise, professionalism, and readiness to help when it was needed most.
Theresa is a role model who makes our unit, our organization, and our profession better, and she deserves recognition for embodying the highest standards of teamwork, mentorship, and patient safety.
