I am honored to recognize Nurse Christianah for the extraordinary compassion, professionalism, and patient-centered care she consistently demonstrates.

Multiple patients independently described Christianah as “the best nurse” they experienced during their hospitalization. What stood out most in their feedback was not only her clinical attentiveness, but the genuine human connection she created with patients and families during vulnerable moments in their lives.

One patient shared that from the moment of admission, Christianah made them feel welcomed, safe, and at ease. Her bedside manner was described as “exceptional” and “flawless.” She took the time to educate patients about medications they were hesitant to take, ensuring they understood the importance of their treatment while maintaining compassion and respect. Rather than simply performing tasks, she built trust.

Another patient described being extremely ill, anxious, and frustrated during a prolonged hospitalization. Christianah consistently responded promptly to requests, monitored important medications closely, assisted with mobility needs even when support staff were unavailable, and anticipated patient needs without being asked repeatedly. The patient specifically stated that Christianah treated them with kindness, dignity, and urgency at a time when they felt vulnerable and afraid.

What also distinguishes Christianah is her commitment to communication and patient engagement. She consistently practices “Commit to Sit,” taking intentional time at the bedside to listen, educate, and ensure patients feel heard and valued. She also performs thorough bedside shift reports, actively involving patients and their families in the plan of care, which promotes trust, collaboration, and reassurance during hospitalization. Families frequently feel included, informed, and supported because of the way she communicates with empathy and professionalism.

Her impact extends beyond physical care. Patients repeatedly mentioned her pleasant attitude, calming presence, sense of humor, and ability to make difficult days easier. One patient wrote that Christianah made them laugh during painful moments and even helped brighten their birthday while hospitalized. Another stated, “We need more nurses like her.”

What makes Christianah truly DAISY-worthy is that her excellence was not described as a single isolated event — it was consistently reflected across multiple patient experiences. Patients recognized her responsiveness, emotional intelligence, respectful communication, teamwork, and unwavering compassion. Several specifically noted that she went above and beyond what was expected and made them feel genuinely cared for as individuals, not just patients.

Christianah exemplifies the values of extraordinary nursing care and represents the very heart of the nursing profession. Her ability to combine clinical excellence with authentic compassion has left a lasting impact on the patients and families she serves. Nurse Christianah was very pleasant from the very beginning when I was admitted to her unit. She was very welcoming. I felt at ease knowing that I was in good hands. Her bedside manner is exceptional, flawless.

For example, I was prescribed a medication that I didn't want to take. She explained the importance of why I should take it. She made me laugh every time she gave me a shot, which I hated. What really stood out for me was that she appreciated her staff.

When I was in severe pain, she responded immediately. For that, I will forever be grateful. My hospital stay has been pretty long, but having her as my nurse has made it an easy stay.

When it was my birthday, she made me laugh, and I did the same. I believe she should go further in her career. We need more nurses like her.
