The way she handled the entire afternoon made my father's passing so much easier than I ever thought it could be.
My father passed away while on hospice. RN Cameron was caring for him.

Just after noon, my father took his last breath. The staff all knew that his passing was imminent. I pressed the call button, and an assistant quickly came into the room. I informed her that my father had passed, and she stepped out. RN Cameron promptly returned with another RN.

They respectfully examined my father and determined that he had indeed passed away.

I asked Cameron many questions, and she compassionately answered every one of them. She spoke with me and my family with grace and empathy. She explained how things would work with hospice, the funeral home, and the possibility of a medical examiner because of my father's previous falls.

Looking back, I know she had many things she needed to cover with me, but she did so in a way that never felt like she was simply checking boxes.

The way she handled the entire afternoon made my father's passing so much easier than I ever thought it could be. It was still incredibly difficult, but her professionalism and empathy made it manageable for me.

She explained that I could take as much time as I needed with my dad. True to her word, I spent what seemed like hours with him until I built up the courage to leave. I was given the time and privacy to mourn without interruption.

As I was leaving, Cameron came to check on me one last time to make sure I was okay and asked if there was anything I needed.

I am so grateful that she was there at the time of my father's passing. She was truly a blessing.
