Margaret immediately made me feel safe and understood. Her kindness and her presence had such a huge impact during my stay.
I was admitted to the hospital very sick with severe infection and pain. I have pancreatic cancer, and my back hurts so much. Margaret Bugno was my nurse, and I would like to recognize her for her extraordinary devotion to her patients. She listened to me every time I had concerns.

Before and after surgery, I was anxious and in pain. Margaret immediately made me feel safe and understood. Her kindness and her presence had such a huge impact during my stay. When my pain was so bad, Margaret stayed by my side, calmly explained that medication needs time to kick in, she was holding my hand, patted my back, and reassured me that I would feel better. She did it because she cared deeply for me.

It's very hard for me to truly explain how safe she made me feel. I have been in the hospital so many times, but this is the first time I met a nurse with so much devotion and compassion. When she left for the day, she gave me a big hug, wishing me to get better and reassuring me that I would recover.

I want Margaret to be recognized. It's a nurse like her is the reason why this award was invented.
