I was placed in the care of Janelle Summers when I arrived from the surgical recovery ward. Needless to say, I was very emotional talking about my life, one of the greatest losses in my life, as well as the blessings of my wonderful children and grandchildren, and how deeply I missed them. This was my first surgery without them present, due to distance, pregnancy, and work obligations.

Janelle remained present and attentive, caring for me in a way that reminded me of my loving children. She listened closely to my health concerns and my anxiety. She carefully explained every procedure while ensuring my comfort and helping me stay focused on healing and recovery.

Her professionalism is something I haven’t seen in quite some time. She demonstrated sincere, compassionate, and consistent patient care that truly reflects the high standards of this hospital. Staff members who perform their duties with skill, warmth, and consistency often reflect strong leadership and administration that support them in delivering such exceptional care.

Janelle went above and beyond in every aspect of her role. Her attention to my physical needs, as well as my emotional well-being, made me feel safe and confident. Because of her, I was able to manage my anxiety and cope with the absence of my children. I was frequently on the phone with them, and she understood how important that connection was to my sense of calm.

She provided care with respect, patience, and clear communication—qualities I deeply appreciate. My recovery truly began in her hands. Had Janelle not provided such comprehensive and compassionate care, especially addressing my emotional needs, I don’t believe I would have recovered as smoothly or felt as confident returning home.

Thank you for providing such a well-rounded, professional, compassionate, and kind nurse. I felt consistently valued and supported under her care.
