We would like to recognize this Nurse Leader for the DAISY Award in honor of her outstanding leadership, dedication to education, and unwavering commitment to patient safety. Amanda Stoffel exemplifies excellence in nursing practice and serves as a role model for her peers.
Her leadership skills and educational contributions are exceptional. She consistently goes above and beyond to support her colleagues and improve clinical outcomes. As an educator, she is deeply committed to advancing nursing knowledge and practice. Her extensive credentials include:

• Certified in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing through NCC

In addition to her educational roles, Amanda is currently involved in several key projects aimed at improving patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and staff preparedness:
1. Coordinating care for high-risk OB patients between Memorial, General, and Teays hospitals to ensure seamless transitions for those requiring ICU-level care.
2. Leading an initiative to improve fetal monitoring by supporting Labor & Delivery RNs in obtaining their FM certification through the National Certification Corporation (NCC); the unit is currently 80% certified.
3. Heading the Nurse PI Charge Group, which conducts monthly interdisciplinary OB emergency drills on the Labor & Delivery Unit.
4. Providing CPICU charge nurse education to enhance care delivery for high-risk obstetric patients.
5. Developing targeted education for Emergency Department staff related to obstetric emergencies, bridging a critical knowledge gap.

Amanda's impact on our unit is profound. Her passion for teaching goes beyond the unit to extend to our other hospitals and staff and also to high school students through community where she teachers in programs like the CAMC Junior Nursing Academy. Her tireless advocacy for maternal and neonatal safety and calm, confident leadership during emergencies make her a truly deserving recipient of the DAISY Award.
