“An Extraordinary Nurse” is far too limited a description or title for Alex Oul, RN.

I was extremely fortunate enough to cross paths with this nurse during my recent hospitalization on the surgical unit. From the first of the three days I was under his care, it was very apparent that this man values his role as more than just providing “assigned” medical care.

He immediately and consistently displayed a very high level of concern, understanding, compassion, interest, and effort in doing everything in his ability to assist in the goal of improving my health.

I have, unfortunately, a multitude of health issues combined to present a real challenge to everybody involved in my healthcare. Of all professionals involved in this, doctors included, Alex was the one completely consistent and totally comprehensive person I immediately relied upon for any and all answers to my questions and challenges.

He never once showed any hesitation to "dive in” to the problems at hand and search for the answers. So much so that I actually became very self-conscious that I was somehow “selfish” in accepting his time, effort, and help. He simply made me feel he should be spending as much, if not more, time with other patients whom I am sure would have benefited from his ability as well.

It should also be known that even to the last day of interaction with Alex, he remained committed to solving my health issues to the extent of staying longer than his hours of shift work, simply to get answers for my health care.

Again, it was an overwhelming feeling that this guy's abilities were so easily put forth for my care.

On a personal note, he was as well cordial to my family and understood our concerns and our worries.
