She actively listens to frontline concerns by spending time with directorate staff on location; she translates feedback into actionable strategies and ensures that every voice is heard in the pursuit of better care.
I am nominating Kirsty Gee for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to quality improvement in patient care. As a Quality Improvement Facilitator, Kirsty has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to enhancing clinical practices, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence. She is a team player who is always the first to step forward to assist and support her colleagues.
One of the most impactful initiatives that Kirsty has supported is the ‘New Lower Limb Pathway’ project. Through her leadership, collaboration, and data-driven approach, this initiative led to measurable improvements in patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, staff confidence, sustainability and financial savings.
The Joint Tissue Viability Lead said, "Kirsty has been a monumental help for moving this project forward from start to finish. She has offered direction when I couldn't find any, networking when I wasn't sure whom to turn to, and countless opportunities to share the project, all of which really helped bring the project to life. Alongside all of the above, whenever I had doubts about the project, she was the voice of calm, an absolute cheerleader, and pushed me to keep going. The project really could not have been as successful as it has been without her input and I am so grateful to have worked on this with her, she is a credit to her team and the wider trust.”
Kirsty is not only a skilled clinician but also a compassionate advocate for patients and staff alike. She actively listens to frontline concerns by spending time with directorate staff on location; she translates feedback into actionable strategies and ensures that every voice is heard in the pursuit of better care. She has an ability to bridge clinical expertise with systems thinking and areas to make improvements which has made her an invaluable asset to our team and the organisation.
Whether mentoring colleagues, leading improvement teams and projects, or presenting findings to senior leadership, Kirsty brings professionalism, empathy, and innovation to every aspect of her role. Her work exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award - making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and those who care for them.
I wholeheartedly recommend Kirsty for this recognition. Her dedication to continuous improvement and compassionate care truly embodies the values we strive for in healthcare.
